Cat Ba Island and the green lagoons

As usual, we parted company with the tour and stayed behind on the island, taking some rickety old bikes (with Theo tied to an little bike seat with an old bike inner tube) up into the national park to stay in a small village in the valley. Basic was the name of the game, but once the cockroaches had been eliminated, the rustic charm came through.

Rosario – More than just the birth place of Che Guevara

Sitting on the long distance bus, for mile after mind numbing mile of pampa flatness, a sense of nirvana washes over as I reflect on the last few days. Rosario, our recent home, hardly registers in the guide books apart from its possible mention as the birth place of Che Guevara, the place where the Argentine flag was invented and host to one of the longest bridges in the world.
