Wellington – the windy city

Wellington – What a pretty place. We made our home in Lower Hutt, the original settlement before the first inhabitants thought better of it and moved across the bay to Wellington. ( well actually, not the first inhabitants, the first european ones!).  Wellington surprised us, and our first foray to the top of the hill to the observatory was the start of a very pleasant couple of days.

As an initiation to the hordes of tourists, were covered the castle first, after which things could only be less busy (with the exception of Charles’ Bridge which is a nightmare at any time of day or night!). A brisk climb up the steps of St Vitus Cathedral and we were well rewarded with magnificent views over Prague. From here you can put the city into some context.
