Sand-boarding the giant dunes

Whilst in Samurai Bungalows we met a lovely couple with 3 children from Bournmouth. The kids played really nicely and the family were great company. Come to think of it, all of the people staying here are really nice – the beautiful German couple from Dresden, the family coming up from Sydney, the bunch of lads doing a bit of surfing, the French chap from near Geneva, the Dutch couple from Utrecht – all of them really nice.

view of the dunes - perfect place to tire the kids out

Anyway, we decided to join forces with Jason and Suzie (plus Max, Amy and Evie) and headed with sandboard under arm to the nearby famous sand dunes – it was time to ride. Amazingly there we no hospitalisations – which was good because none of our travel insurance policies actually covered us – sandboarding is an extreme sport. When you see the crash picture you will see why it is not covered!

first off we tried the body boards

but the proper sand boards were MUCH faster

in the meantime, Elena finds a new partner in crime

and before long they are hurtling down......

and luckily got away with a monster crash

and there was no way he was going to miss the action

Jo is there! She is the one going down on the sand board “MUCH faster”. You are right, I was chief camera operator, but to be fair, I did make it down – standing up!

    Well done Extreme Team…

we are sure that your after-activity-dinner must have been rather crunchy
    and your after-dinner-activities…well…full of “friction”…

    love the crash photos….
obviously, you did not give the Bomber Simpson the board for a good reason…

love J and P and all Lehmanns xxx

We are still finding the sand in odd pockets now, two weeks later! Great fun though.
