Bohemian Paradise

We are staying just outside the Czech National Park of Cesky Raj, translated as Bohemian Paradise. More pictures and less words for this one.

Five minutes bike ride from the house there are a series of lakes, refreshing in the hot weather, if a little murky. The rope swing on a nearby island is great.

mucking around in front of Cstle Kost (Bone Castle). It got it's name from the story of the inhabitant throwing their last roast boar over the battlements as they were being besieged to fool General Zizka into thinking they had lots of food left.

Plankanky (the valley of tears) the story goes that the rocks were created from the tears of lovers. We just came across a pregnant woman doing a naked photoshoot!!! These Czechs!

About 5 miles from the house the landscape is fantastic. This view is of "The Band" and it is like this all along the ridge for miles and miles.

The Chateux of Hruba Skala is now a hotel with lots of weddings. The kids play area is also a death trap with loose fences and 100 foot drops all around.

Sychrov, yet another chateux about 10 miles from us. If you ever visit, the restaurant is great value considering the location.

Lots of dangerous opportunities to throw yourself off if you are a two year old.

Our typical family portrait. All together apart from the devil dressed in red legging it off to go and splash in yet another puddle!

don’t tell him to do that Steve – we need him back in 283 days 16 hrs and 50mins (not that I am counting). Mind you, you may not recognise the office any more Alan, now that I have put up the frilly pink curtains, painted the walls lilac and have a weekly delivery of flowers to brighten up the place. We even have ‘tea at two’ on Fridays (and thats no joke!!)
The trip sounds great already and you are not even out of Europe! I envy you about to visit all those fantastic places. Keep the pictures comming. Love Sue x
